The purpose of the Edison School District 2009 STAR (Standardized Testing and Reporting) Preparation Video is to continue to reach out to students and their families. Our efforts to increase parent involvement is paramount to the Edison School District and it is one of our primary goals.

This video demonstrates the power of digital media. Every family in our district receives a DVD at no charge. Parents and students are encouraged to watch this DVD together so they can understand the importance of the STAR assessment and the California accountability system for public schools.

Research we have gathered demonstrates that students who do well on the California Standards Test know the importance of the test and how test results will be used.

This video features OUR STUDENTS AND STAFF. We feel this increases the interest level and provides the foundation to deliver an important message in an entertaining and motivational format.
